The AJR concert at Amalie Arena on 5/9/2024 was a transcendent experience, blending electrifying music with stunning visuals to create an unforgettable night for fans. Opening the show, Dean Lewis set the bar high with a fantastic performance that warmed up the crowd perfectly. As AJR launched onto the stage, the energy in the arena surged to new heights, with the giant video wall serving as a mesmerizing backdrop to their dynamic performance. Hits like “Bang” and “Yes, I’m a Mess” had the audience singing and dancing along. Their unique blend of genres, incorporating elements of pop, rock, and electronic music, created an unforgettable sound that filled the arena. Their infectious enthusiasm and magnetic stage presence, AJR had the crowd hanging on their every word.
Despite their immense talent and success, AJR remained humble and relatable throughout the concert, engaging with the audience, and sharing personal stories that added depth to the performance. As the night came to a close, Jack shared a deeply personal moment with the audience, about their late father, Gary Metzger who passed away from cancer. They revealed that Gary was their biggest fan and that his last words of advice before passing were, “Go be the biggest version of yourself.” It was a poignant reminder of the power of music to connect us and evoke profound emotions. It was clear that the concert was more than just a show—it was a celebration of life, love, and the universal language of music.
Now go out and see some live music!
