STILL RELEVANT: CANDLEBOX AND 3 DOORS DOWN ROCK TAMPA’S MIDFLORIDA AMPHITHEATER

On the balmy evening of September 15, 2023, the MidFlorida Amphitheater in Tampa came alive with the electrifying sounds of rock as Candlebox and 3 Doors Down took the stage. This unforgettable concert left fans in awe, not only for the timeless hits performed by these legendary bands, but also the surprise they were in for.

Candlebox, who has been a prominent figure in the rock scene since the early ’90s, proved that they still have the fire that made them famous. The band, originally formed in Seattle in 1990, delivered a powerful setlist that spanned their illustrious career. Hits like “Far Behind” and “You” resonated with both long-time fans and newcomers, showcasing the timeless quality of their music. Kevin Martin’s vocals were stellar. I have seen Candlebox many times and Kevin is always on and never disappoints.

What added an extra layer of excitement to this performance was the return of Peter Klett, Candlebox’s original guitarist. While Klett had parted ways with the band in 2016, he is making a triumphant return for a select few shows in Florida, rekindling the magic with his former band mates. His guitar prowess and chemistry with the rest of the band were evident as they played their hearts out, creating an emotional connection with the audience.

3 Doors Down the Mississippi-based rockers, who burst onto the scene in the late ’90s, showcased their enduring appeal and musicianship. Their setlist included chart-topping hits like “Kryptonite,” “Here Without You,” and “When I’m Gone,” which had the crowd singing along. Frontman Brad Arnold’s passionate vocals and the band’s tight-knit performance demonstrated why they remain a beloved force in rock music. Their seamless blend of rock and heartfelt lyrics touched the hearts of everyone in attendance.

This show was nothing short of a rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza. Candlebox proved that their music is still relevant today as it was in the ’90s.
