Kings Of Leon / Cold War Kids Everyone’s favorite royal sons of southern alt rock rode the ‘return of live music’ wave with a packed show at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre on Thursday night (8/5). The Followill brothers hit the road to tour their 8th studio album titled ‘When You See Yourself’. Missing for the first leg of shows was cousin Matt, who took some time off to spend with his newborn and family. Long time tour member Timothy Deaux did a fantastic job as stand in. The band played a blistering (and exhausting) 26 song set including encore, covering their hits from all 8 albums, to a grateful and satiated crowd.

The weather was perfect, as were the endless bubblegum bubbles blown by drummer Nathan while still hammering beats. The sing-a-longs were magical, with the crowd taking over on Use Somebody bringing a smile to the bands faces that seemed to say ‘Man, we missed this’. Alt-Rock favorites Cold War Kids were the opener for this leg of the tour. Energetic and vibrant, they had no problems getting the fans moving. Hits include First Hang Me Up To Dry and their new single release in June of this year, What You Say.

Tampa Bay music lovers welcomed both bands with open arms and lots of cheers. We missed you two guys!
