WHEN BON JOVI CALLS YOU ANSWER
Well, local Tampa indie pop band Miroux got that call. Last night the call that they were wishing and hoping to get came. They were informed that they were the Tampa band selected to open this Friday night for Bon Jovi at the Amalie Arena. Bon Jovi was picking local bands to open for them on all their US tour stops. Interested bands were asked to send in videos from which the selection would be made.

Jonah Hollander, Miroux lead singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer told Tampa Bay Music News that they just sent in a phone video that one of the band members parents shot at a recent Jannus Live show. Miroux is a five-member band of twenty somethings that have been making a name for themselves. Other band members include Sebastian Siaca, bassist also co-writes and co-produces, Jeffrey Goodwin, Jesse Daw, co-producer and writer and Kevin Mendel. The band has intentionally avoided the whole club circuit because they wanted to keep their music something special, fresh and avoid over saturation. Hollander admitted that all the band members are “all jazz heads” and describes their music as “alternative dance/ pop” with strong vocals at the core. Jonah noted that Miroux has focused appearing at only high-profile events like the Gasparilla Music Festival, 97 X. Battle of the bands, USF Bullstock, Next Big Thing BBQ etc.

Miroux will open the concert with a twenty-minute set of originals which promises to be a very heady experience for the boys who will be playing for a packed arena of thousands. Who knows this might be the one break they been waiting for. Hollander commented his mother is super stoked about this opportunity, he only regrets that his dad, who was a huge Bon Jovi fan will not be there to see him share the stage with his rock idol. Sadly Jonah’s dad had passed away a year and a half ago.
