by photojournalist Justin AbramoIn a scene worthy of quoting This Is Spinal Tap, the amps at Jannus were cranked to 11 for an all-out sonic assault. On October 23, 2026, The Metalicious Tour – featuring Bailey Spinn, Wargasm (UK), and headliner Scene Queen brought a relentless mix of energy, powerful vocals, chaos to a diverse Jannus crowd. TikTok phenom, Bailey Spinn, took to the stage first and immediately proved her place on the tour during an incredibly polished and powerful performance setting the bar for the remaining acts to follow. With a strong seven song setlist, Spinn, displayed how the transition from TikTok to music was an easy and logical progression as it would be criminal to let a voice like that lay dormant behind an influencer career. Spinn has a powerhouse voice that invites comparisons to Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Evanescence’s Amy Lee. She opened with “Start Again,” from her upcoming 2026 album, Death and Devotion, signaling a shift from pop-punk toward a darker, heavier sound driven by muscular guitars and more aggressive vocals. Her cover of Sleeping with Sirens’ “Better Off Dead” showcased her range as both a vocalist and musician. By the time she closed with “Homicide,” it was clear that Spinn was ready to leave her younger persona behind and embrace a deeper, heavier musical identity. Bailey Spinn is positioning herself as a breakout musician for 2027, don’t sleep on this artist!
UK-based Wargasm took the stage next and tore through an explosive 11-song set, fusing electro-punk, nu-metal, and industrial hardcore into one relentlessly loud, high-energy performance. Imagine a collision of Limp Bizkit, The Prodigy, and Slipknot, it was that heavy, and that good! Vocalist and guitarist Sam Matlock delivers a formidable roar, balanced by the sultry yet equally powerful voice of co- lead vocalist and bassist Milkie Way.
Together, their raw vocal chemistry and explosive energy drive home the anti-establishment message and critique of wealth inequality at the heart of their single “Fukstar”, which was one of my favorites from the evening.”Swallow” was another highlight of their set, showcasing how Wargasm (UK) brings a raw power that is both memorizing and haunting with Milkie Way’s voice offering a serene chorus to Matlock’s powerful, guttural screams.
Remaining band members, DJ Adam Crilly (Crilly Ashes), drummer Adam Breeze, and backing guitarist (unknown) really compliment Wargasm’s powerful, “electronic-metal- mashup” of sound and I highly recommend giving this band a listen to when you want to completely immerse yourself in a wall of sound that will raise your heartrate and leave your ears ringing for days. Headliner Scene Queen, the stage persona of Hannah Rose Collins, closed the night with a powerful performance of her self-coined “Bimbocore.” Her colorful, Barbie-themed stage featured oversized red Solo cups and a green loveseat occupied by a skeleton, creating a playful pink spectacle that perfectly matched her music. Before the concert, I walked along the line and asked several concertgoers who they were there to see. The overwhelming answer was Scene Queen! This surprised me because I really was unaware that she had such a following. I had not heard of her before, but after spending the past couple of weeks listening to her songs, I have grown surprisingly fond of her music.
Scene Queen doesn’t list accompanying musicians anywhere online that I was able to see so I can only say that they sounded great. If you have knowledge of them, please mention their names in the comment section.
The drummer and guitarist truly complimented the set with a polished and tight sound that highlighted Scene Queen’s mix of intense metalcore screams and feminine pop vocals. Delivering a 14-song set, Scene Queen, brought a powerful feminine message and lyrics that were heavy in bisexuality undertones and as a new listener, I can’t say that any of it was offending to me to hear. The songs flowed naturally from one to the next, giving the audience a strong cross-section of Scene Queen’s catalog. Standouts included “Barbie & Ken,” “Tits Out at Brunch,” and “Mutual Masturbation” were standouts with the crowd.
The set reached its peak near the end, when Scene Queen brought members of Wargasm back onstage for “Girls Gone Wild,” followed by “Pink Rover” and “18+.”The Metalicious Tour lived up to the hype. I was also pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the crowd that filled Jannus that night. Competing with Tampa Bay’s baseball crowd during the regular season is challenging enough. Drawing a solid audience during Game 1 of the World Series between the Rays and Brewers is another accomplishment entirely and the Metalicious Tour did exactly that.
