NOTHING MORE launched the North American leg of their Carnal Nature World Tour on January 14, 2026 with support from Catch Your Breath , ARCHERS and Doobie. Making Tuesday’s performance in St Pete the tour’s fifth stop and one of only two slated for Florida. I can assure you that the fans who packed the near capacity Jannus Live oozed appreciation for being one of the chosen as the night was surely one to remember.

Starting out the night was rock-rapper Doobie, a platinum draped performer who popped onto the national scene with his hit single, “When The Drugs Don’t Work,” which amassed over 27 million collective views. Doobie’s has big shoes to fill with Masquerade stating that with his “melding together of influences from rock and hip hop, Doobie is an eclectic star in the making.” While forming his own persona Doobie was influenced by artists such as Alice in Chains, Metallica and especially Nirvana. In turn his rap echoes a unique hint of metal and a heavy serving of grunge reminiscent of the fabled Seattle Sound. As Doobie toes the line between multiple genres currently in route to his first rock album release, the Columbus, Ohio based artist is most certainly a name to keep an eye out for.

Second in line was ARCHERS, a group that emerged in Wisconsin circa 2015 as the brainchild of founders Ben Koehler (guitar) and Nathanael Pulley (lead vocals), the duo laid the foundation for what evolved into the pop rock/metal core band ARCHERS with Oscar Porter and Grayson Mesarosh later joining the group to round out the lineup. The band focuses on raw themes that encapsulate the roller coaster that is life, an approach that keeps their music deeply personal. Dubbed “the metalcore heart and soul of Wisconsin” by Musical Mind, ARCHERS manages to blend genres with a double dose of emotionalism that sets them apart from the pack. Tuesday’s 30 minute set, while short, was an impressive mix of soulful vocals, stunning instrumentals and pro level showmanship that got the crowd more than warmed up on an unusually chilly Florida night.

Third on deck was Catch Your Breath, founded in 2017 and based out of one of America’s great music cities Austin, Texas. Catch Your Breath is a lively crew consisting of vocalist Josh Mowery, guitarist Teddy Herrera, the especially animated bassist Cianan Madigan, and drummer Onell Hernandez. Catch your breath is known for their dreamlike, synth-mixed soundscapes, a dynamic performance style and songwriting packed with imaginativeness as well as raw emotion. The group fully broke onto the scene in 2022 with their hit single “Dial Tone” reaching #3 on Spotify Metal’s Worldwide Chart and #7 on Billboards Hot Hard Rock Songs. Their first studio album Shame on Me was recently dropped in 2023 by Thriller Records. Having already toured with genre powerhouses Falling in Reverse and Atreyu I have a feeling that this relatively new group is going to do big things.

Now for the big guns. Nothing More was formed in San Antonio, TX and currently are based in Nashville, TN. The bands current and most enduring lineup consists of Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums). Nothing More has been lauded as one of Kerrang!’s “22 Artists Shaping the Future of Rock,” The group builds their anthems on catchy, explosive arena-ready hooks and nuanced storytelling, attracting over 1 billion streams and 160 million video view. Nothing More’s growing popularity has resulted in three Grammy Award nominations, two gold plaques and multiple chart toppers. The group has managed to win over global audiences with their immersive and kinetic live performances, putting in their all whether they are playing more intimate venues, to a full arena or a crowded festival. Nothing More recently released their seventh studio album with the cerebral Carnal in June 2024.

These guys have clearly honed their approach over their tenure as the band displayed the strengths of their presence with Hawkins and crew in near perpetual motion covering every inch of the stage. The enthusiasm behind their performance was mutually as impressive as it was endearing. This electricity seemingly shot right off the stage and into the crowd as everyone in the audience was beyond amped while Hawkins directing the attendees from the stage’s platform like a seasoned orchestral conductor. As with most hard rock and metal shows you had your circle pit, your crowd surfers and your head bangers, but tonight was special. As I panned across the audience, I noticed a young girl who could not have been more than 11 years old full-fledged head banging along with the best of them. Her hair swinging and whipping like it was caught in hurricane force winds before opening act Doobie took notice, came over and joined in on the fun. Upon speaking to her parents to ask if they minded if I took a few photos they informed me that this was her first ever concert. That alone made the night special.

I am going to wrap it up here as I have a few things to say about the above experience. One, this girl is going to be a true badass when she grows up; Two, these parents are most definitely doing it right; Three, isn’t this what it is all about? Great music, community, creating lasting memories and bonding over our mutual enjoyment the bands we love? Nothing More not only played one hell of a show, they also fostered an environment that, in my opinion, is exactly what a concert should be. This family outing really hit home for me, making me feel appreciation for the bond that I have with my own father over live music. A bond that he fostered in my youth and continues to this day, much like the parents of the show stealing little girl.
