On July 12th, Amalie Arena wasn’t just hosting a rock show—it became a full-blown cathedral of darkness as Ghost descended on the city like a plague of fire and brimstone. The venue was packed to the rafters with their devoted fans—known as The Congregation, a sea of face-painted fans, denim vests, and black-clad disciples ready to give themselves over to Papa V Perpetua  unholy sermon.

The stage looked ripped straight out of a twisted gothic fever dream: towering stained-glass windows, their panes filled with grotesque, demon-like saints, loomed high above the Nameless Ghouls as smoke crawled across the floor. Hovering above it all was Ghost’s massive, glowing inverted cross—a beacon of blasphemy that pulsed in time with thunderous riffs. From the opening notes of “Peaceful,” the band tore into the set like possessed priests, unleashing wave after wave of pounding anthems and melodic hooks that had the crowd screaming every word like it was scripture.

For two relentless hours, Ghost turned the arena into their personal Goth church of rock, with Papa V Perpetua  preaching the Gothpel in his sly, sinister way between songs. From the bone-rattling punch of “Year Zero” to the soaring chorus of “Dance Macabre,” the energy never dipped, and the Congregation fed it right back in a frenzy. By the finale, with the inverted cross blazing and amps still ringing, it felt less like the end of a concert and more like the aftermath of a dark revival meeting. Tampa didn’t just witness Ghost—they were converted.
