Then the lights dropped and John Waite walked out with his four-piece band, all in black, looking cool and locked in. He didn’t ease us into it either—he slammed straight into “Midnight Rendezvous,” and suddenly we were off.

John is a Tampa native and an immensely passionate music lover. He’s currently the Creative Director for PDQ Chicken, and in the past worked as lead designer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, receiving a 2002 Super Bowl ring. As Art Director for Big 3 Records, he created art for Cheap Trick (Rockford and Sargent Peppers album covers), Stryper and Jon Secada among others. With his two children in college, he has more time to attend concerts with his wife of 30 years. His love for his hometown of Tampa, is only surpassed by his admiration of a diverse range of musical styles.
